Computer powers down before getting to Window

Hello,

My computer was fine yesterday. This morning I found it wasn't on. I pushed the power button and it acted like it was going to start but before it gets to the Windows screen it just turns off automatically.

Please help!

Sounds like your RAM could causing the problem. Try pulling one card (if you have two) at a time and restarting.

I took each one out one at a time and restarted and I got all the way to my desktop but then it shut down before I could finish quitting out of the startup things, i.e, checking printers, blackberry desktop manager.

I then put them both in and started up and now it seems to be working. Maybe there was some dust?

Do you think this is the precursor of bad things to come? A few months ago I got a couple of "blue screen" errors and had Geeks on Call come who told me that the blue screens were an indication that my computer was going to go bad, not if but when. Could today's issue be more hints that the worst is coming?
