Yesterday i tried get back on my laptop(its a Compaq Presario) and it gave me this message..'no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key!! Does anyone know what this means and what I need to do??
Thanks Ambucias.
Is this something I can do by myself or need to take to a computer repair shop?? Also, does this affect any of my data(files, pics etc??)
Took it to the tech..he said the hard disk had just shifted probably due to the laptop being dropped or something. Thank God nothing was damaged and he managed to get it to start up

Also a technician may be able to transfer the data to the new disk; some might be lost.
Good luck
