Acer laptop shut off black screen

My acer laptop shut off and when I try to turn it on the lights light up 1 that shows its charging and the other is the power light but when the screen pops up its black and has a flashing underscore, I am wondering what I can do to get my laptop to work? I have a lot of information on it that I want and need

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.
