Maybe the mouse is just not working properly, maybe there is something busted in the mouse's motherboard

your touchpad probably has a scroll feature on the right-hand side of the the touchpad. I assume you're accidentally putting your hand on the touchpad which is zooming the page. Some touchpads also have gestures which you can use to do multiple things.
Only your fingers should be on your touchpad. Try not to lean too much on to it that your hand gets on there.
