Cpu change

Hello,
Having found my mobo manual on the net, a 2.2 GHz Pentium 4 cpu FSB 400 is the maximum supported by the chipset. If I drop one of those in, what would I have to do or would work straight away?

Depends how old the board is really....if your lucky it will be software/bios based updates rather than having to hunt the correct dip-pin connectors to enable its fully.

how would I go about this .I not too familair with pcs ,can you explain a little more.I have had the pc for about a week
