Boot problem

Hello,



Earlier today I was on my computer when it got a little laggy. So could only unplug the power. And that was what I did. But now I only get to the BIOS pop-up window, and btw it is there for like 15 seconds instead of like 1-2 seconds. And I get only that. Nothing else... I've tried to reinstall the computer, it is the same thing as when I try to boot it up. Then I tried a rescue disc that I bought. And the same hing. Should I buy a new hard drive becuase of windows not booting up or what could cause the problem?
