Hello,
Was saving pics from laptop to the external storage device.
Unfortunately a folder in the external storage device had same pictures numbers as the files from the laptop and I mistakenly replaced the old pictures (in the device) with these new pics from the laptop.
Can those old pics be retrieved. Thanks

You could try searching for the files using a data recovery software. There are many all over the Internet - some of them are paid and others are free. If they can't do the job, you could try with Linux Live CD/USB. In the Ubuntu forum you could see the steps how to make a USB bootable and try to access your data from it.
If nothing provided above is suitable, then the final solution is to bring your external drive to a professional data recovery company.
