Computer starts but desktop doesnt appear

Hello,
Good evening sir. My computer starts, it shows microsoft logo of windows 7, and then black screen appears and no desktop comes even after long time. What would be the problem. Please suggest me the right solution

HIt the windows Key, and type EXPLORER and hit enter! What happens?
