Wifi is not working in HP laptop

Hello,

I have HP laptop and window 7 ultimate installed in it. Wifi is not working in my laptop, while other device is connecting to my wifi router. So i want to know,if there is any other way or any other application through which i can connect my laptop to wifi.

Is there a WIFI indicator on that model of laptop? If so, what color is it?

yes it is, and a red cross marked on it.

NO, not the desktop icon, I mean a physical light, like an orange one, or a blue one. What Model of HP is it so that I can google the model and locate it myself!
