Sony Vaio laptop keys suddenly stopped working

Hi,

Suddenly a lot of the keys on my laptop stopped working like caps lock, num lk, delete, shift, backspace, all numbers except 6, letters p, r, u and y. since shift key doesn't work, all the symbol keys aren't working as well. Please help me with some ideas on how to resolve this. Thanks. I really appreciate you guys looking into this.

did you test using an external USB keyboard?

Thank you for your response. I'll be testing it with an external keyboard in a bit. If in any case it works then it means I have to replace the internal keyboard of my laptop, is that right? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Right. You should try to find the Maint. Manual online. That should help you in removing/replacing the internal keyboard.
