Hello,
I have a crashed operating system. I am trying to access the hard drive to transfer memory to an external hard drive or another computer before performing the recovery disk. I know best buy uses a program that access the hard drive directly and bypasses windows completely but I cannot find one. Can anyone help? I have alot of data that I do not want to lose.

Here is a link to a web page with instructions on creating a bootable Linux CD which you can use to copy your files. https://lifehacker.com/geek-to-live-rescue-files-with-a-boot-cd-192982
