Hello,
I have a 1TB externl hard disk. when i connect it to my Lap, there is a spinning noise and light, even the hard disk is getting detected.
But the issue is that i m not able to open the same and disk size is not detected.
I have not tried to format it, since the data is very Important

Hi There,
Firstly you should check what type of HDD you have for instance if it Seagate you need to download your Seagate tools and troubleshoot with them failing to get that working, tried slave your HDD in another machine and backup all your data once you done convert your disc to MBR and format using NTFS format.
That should resolve all your problems.
