Asus laptop black screen

Hello

I can turn my Asus on but there is just a black screen how can I recover as came with no disc and f9 doesn't work thanks Mel

Well, can you connect an external monitor so we know if we are troubleshooting the monitor, the harddrive, or the motherboard?
