Hi Jnauls3,
Is the PC able to boot or it just freezes with black screen and a steady beep? If the PC boots, there may be an issue with some peripherals. If the PC cannot boot, you may be facing a video card problem or a RAM memory problem. That depends on the motherboard manufacturer, because different motherboards have different meanings for the beep codes. My advice is to open your motherboards manual and check what does one steady beep means. If it is a RAM issue, disconnect the RAM memory, clean the ports and reconnect the memory. If it is a video problem, do the same for the video card and please check if all cooling fans are starting when you press the power button.
If you do not have the motherboard manual, check the motherboard manufacturer’s web page.
Hope this helps
