Hi Jay,
Please test the drive with another USB cable. Is the drive correctly recognized when connected to a PC? Please open Disk Management and check the drive’s file format. The majority of the external drives come pre-formatted in NTFS, but some phones and TVs use only FAT32. So, I would recommend you to backup all data and format the drive in FAT32 and try to connect it again to your TV. If the issue persists, contact the drive manufacturer’s support and request assistance.
If the drive does not appear in Disk Management, search for it in Device Manager, under USB devices. Uninstall it, restart the PC and plug the drive back in.

I have not tested this model but, it seems that the button reconnect the drive if it has been disconnected in Windows but still physically connected to the PC. If you are talking about the one touch backup button, it is available only on some models and it can be used with a manufacturer’s software. Please check the drive’s user’s manual for more details:
