Computer Screen

Hello, I have a Hp pavilion f1703 monitor. Every time I turn it on the picture comes up, but about 2 seconds later it goes away and won't come back. if I turn the monitor off and back on it will do it again and if i repeat so on. what could be wrong? or how do i fix it?
