Hello Matthew,
I suggest that you now look into to the future and not three or four years ago.
Yahoo regularly makes a sweep of all old and deleted messages and deletes them from the servers. After three years, I bet you a dime to a doughnut that your messages no longer exist.
Furthermore, Yahoo does not offer the possibility of recovering deleted messages which are no longer in the deleted folder.
As you can see Yahoo or Gmail for that matter are not a place to store date or souvenirs.
