Labtop not powering on completely

when I power on my HP 2000 the screen turns black for a few minutes, then powers off. I've tried everything I could think of to get it working again, but nothing worked.

Take out the Hardrive and try to boot. Does any lights flash, or does it beep. If no to both, the Motherboard is fried! If it beeps, or lights flash, then the HDD is bad (90%)!
