What were MAX premieres in August 2023?
Here we highlight some of the most interesting premieres that MAX featured in August 2023:
August 6
Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, Season 2
Max Borenstein and Jim Hecht create a large-scale and long-running project for the TV channel - a television chronicle of one of the most titled teams in American professional basketball, the Los Angeles Lakers. The first season featured the events of the 1979-1980 NBA season, following the acquisition of the team by Jerry Buss (John C. Reilly). The star of the season was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Solomon Hughes), and a young Magic Johnson (Quincy Isaiah) had just joined the team. The second season, which will premiere on the rebranded platform, takes place between 1980 and 1984. Although the series has been criticized for some factual inaccuracies, in our opinion it perfectly captures the atmosphere of that great era in the history of the Lakers.
August 10
Rap Sh!t, Season 2

Yes, you pronounce the name of this comedy series correctly. The road to stardom is not easy, and high school friends Mia Knight and Shauna Clark face many obstacles, intrigues and, of course, confusing relationships in their careers as hip-hop stars. The last episode of the first season ended with the duo opening for Reyna Reyne's tour and the police about to arrest Shauna.
August 13
Telemarketers
Telemarketers is a new documentary 4 episode mini-series that exposes the criminal scams in the telemarketing business. Two office workers at a New Jersey telemarketing call center one day discover that the money donated to charitable causes is actually being stolen by their executives. What will they do when they receive such dangerous information? It is worth praising the wonderful soundtrack for this true-crime show, which was created by the musician Lichens.
August 18
MarkKim + Chef

HBO cooking shows format continue with a new series, MarkKim + Chef, starring Thai celebrities Mark Prin Suparat and Kimberly Ann Waltemas, who are engaged and soon will be getting married. In 10 episodes, the couple will learn how to cook gourmet dishes under the guidance of the best chefs in Thailand. Maybe you will be inspired and try to cook some of these delicacies yourself?
August 23
BS High

The documentary BS High investigates the controversial case of the high school American football team Bishop Sycamore Centurions in Columbus, Ohio, which turned out to be a scam. This film was directed by Travon Free and Martin Desmond Rowe (Two Distant Strangers). The doc features interviews with players, families, coaches, and the team's controversial head coach Roy Johnson
What's next on MAX in 2023?
In 2023, the platform is preparing several important premieres, but keeps their release dates under wraps. It is very likely that at the end of the year we will be able to watch the 12 and final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm Season, as well as, - oh yes! - the third season of The White Lotus. And it is already known for sure that in the coming months we will see the Conan O'Brien Must Go Max Original series, with the travels of this famous comedian to different countries and the homes of interesting people.
HBO Max is now called MAX
HBO Max has changed its name to MAX. The name change is due to the merger of the two parent companies, WarnerMedia and Discovery, and, respectively, the two platforms, HBO Max and Discovery+. This means that Discovery+ content has also appeared on the platform. At the same time, nothing has changed for existing channel users, and their passwords and logins remain the same. The cost of your subscription has not changed.
So what films and programs have been added to the platform? Max's offering now includes Discovery+ content as well as other Warner Bros. films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey. Among Discovery+ titles that have been added, you can watch Guy's Grocery Games, 90-Day Fiancé, Love It or List It, Dr. Pimple Popper and other films and series.
And what happened to Discovery+ channel? It still exists and you can still subscribe to it separately (for $4.99 per month), but you will find on it only Discovery+ content.
