In order to connect your PS3 to your PC, you will need a PS3 Media server installed on your computer. You can also use your windows media player, but the media server technique is much better. I read about this on http://www.exoticpages.info/connecting_ps3_to_the_media_network_lan_using_me.html

For using Windows Media Player 11 try the following link

go to my computer right click on your "c" drive click share with. then advanced sharing and be sure to make sure it shares with everyone. then go to your ps3 and you should see an icon under movies, music and pictures that shows your computer name. like. dell pc or whatever the name is. OR you can download ps3 media for free. run it and shows up on your ps3 as a media server and just navigate to the folders and play your movies. look at pics or stream mp3s. hope it works.. mine does!
