Speakers won't work

Hello,
I bought this barnd new computer the other day, my speakers are built into my monitor but they won't work. The computer is a hp pavilion slimline and my monitor is a 22" certified data. What should I do to fix this problem of no sound?

The first thing you should do is Call the HP help center.
