Windows 7 missing boot file Boot\BCD status 0xc0000034

The instructions say to load the windows startup disk, choose a language, click next, and click repair computer.

But when the disk is inserted and the language chosen, no "next" option is found. Neither a choice to repair.

Doing this for an indigenous family in Panama with very few resources. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the BIOS show a hard disk at all? This could be a hard disk failure.

Perhaps you can try the following:

If Windows won't start there are 3 magical commands that will usually repair the
bootmanager files to resolve partition problems. Boot from the install disk and
select "Repair your computer" and under the "System Recovery Options" go to the
"Command Propmpt" and type and enter these three commands:
Bootrec.exe /FixMbr
Bootrec.exe /FixBoot
Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

Perhaps you didn't notice that there was no option to repair listed on the page after I chose the language. It also doesn't sound as if the computer is accessing the disk on startup, even though I chose that option. There is nothing that says system recovery, either.

Once I choose the language there are no further steps available.

Thanks for your time....hope you have some more ideas!
