You have surely heard of Minecraft, well Notch Development have now released Minecraft: Education Edition. An educational platform where children can learn about the world and express their creativity at the same time in the Minecraft world.

To access the full version of Minecraft: Education Edition, you must have an active Microsoft Office 365 Education license - the version for both students and teachers. However, if you do not have access to this license, you can still use Minecraft: Education Edition for free, you will just be limited to the number of logins.

Minecraft: Education Edition is a multi-user platform, and its users - families and teachers - can participate in the Minecraft: Education Edition community - play, chat and solve creative tasks together.

The developers also created a special Microsoft Education Challenge encouraging participating children and parents to learn new things about ecology, sustainable development and offer their ideas for solving global problems.

This educational version of the game is available in English for both the youngest (3-5 years old and older) and teenagers (14 years old), as it is divided into modules designed for children of different ages. Parents can find examples of games for different ages in a special section of the Minecraft site.

Other Systems

Minecraft: Education Edition is also available for iOS and can be downloaded from the App Store here.
