Faceboook Password reset code does not work

My wife went to log into her facebook and it told her that her password was an old one and prompted her to click for a password reset code. She clicked for the reset code, and received the code. As soon as she tried entering the code, Facebook said she had entered the wrong code too many times and that she must wait and try again later. This was the very first time she even entered the code. Yes, it was the right code, but Facebook does not recognize it. This was yesterday, and when tried it again today, Facebook sent her the exact same code and it STILL doesnt work!! By the way, the password she originally entered was THE RIGHT ONE as it is the only password she has ever had for the account. No idea why Facebook will not let her use her password, or why Facebook does not even recognize the reset code they sent her.
