Hello,
I have an issue with my desktop, an Acer Aspire TC-780. The night before, I had a windows update and let it sit there for hours until I realized there was obviously something wrong. I restarted it multiple times until I triggered the automatic repair system. I had to reset my PC and keep the original files but when I got to log onto my desktop, there's only a black screen with a cursor. I have no idea what to do, I've restarted my PC multiple times and the emergency repair just doesn't show up. Any solutions to offer or reasons what maybe the cause for this black screen of death?

Try this to troubleshoot. Press the windows key +R

Type in explorer.

Post back if this produces a desktop.

I don't think that worked, still a black screen. Thanks though, I finally got to the Troubleshoot after restarting my PC again. Tried the Startup Repair option on Troubleshoot, but leads to an error message: Log file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

Method 1 is a no go, but for Method 2 & 3, Windows 10 didn't come with an installation CD. Does a plain USB work?
