External hard drive

I have all my movies stored on a external hard drive. it worked on my old computer but now i got a new computer and the movies show up but act like they arent downloaded.. can i do something to fix this

Perhaps you are clicking on a short-cut to the file and the new computer has given a different drive letter to the external drive. See if you can search the drive to find actual file.
