IMovie Video will not upload

I want to know why when I upload .mp4 or .mov clips into iMovie, the video on the clips that are 30 seconds or more do not load. The audio loads however. I tried this on more than one Mac computer, so the problem is not the software.

SO, does it succeed on the other MACs? Even though you have mentioned that you have tried it on other machines, you fail to mention the outcome of such trials!
