Can't access files on my WD My Passport Closed

Question

Hi,
My WD My passport external hard drive used to be listed under devices and now doesnt seem to be, the light the drive comes on and you can hear it working.
If you go into device managers it tells me it has the most up to date device driver and it says "This device is working properly"  but i can  not seem to access the files! HELP

If you are trying to do it through the wireless option, it can be done with Windows Explorer,  but you'll need to find the IP address of your wireless drive first.

To do this, you can check the properties of the wireless connection after you have connected to the drive's wireless connection.  You'll see something like: 192.168.60.1.

Once you have it, use Windows Explorer's FTP and type the following (using your own drive's IP of course) into the address bar:

ftp://192.168.60.1

You should then see your drive's "Storage" folder. You can then manage files on your wireless drive.
