I'm sorry to hear about your WD My Passport getting corrupted! :(
Since you've already got in touch with our tech support, I'd suggest to look for professional data recovery companies if the files are that important to you. But keep in mind that it might be a bit costly. http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=le9Nav
You can also try to recover the data yourself at your own risk because nobody can guess how much of the files will be recovered.
I'd suggest to take a look at several similar threads for ideas:

Also if your drive is still within the warranty period, it's most probably time to RMA and get a replacement.
