External hard drive to boot and work with laptop

Hello,



Please i wish to know if and how can i use an external hard drive to boot and work with my laptop.(without an internal hard drive.?Thanks.

some laptops can boot from an external USB drive. You will need to change the "boot order" in the BIOS.

okay thanks but can i work with it normally as though i was working with internal one?

yes, assuming you install a copy of Windows on the drive.

so you mean it is possible for me to take out the old internal hard drive,insert it in an external HDD casing then connect via the eSATA port on my laptop and it will boot and work normally as though it were an internal one?

Yes, but only if the BIOS has an option to boot from a USB connected drive.

Waow it was a great one.i had my problem solved and now my laptop working again.save dme money from buying another laptop or hard drive.i only spent less on purchasing an External HDD casing then slot in the old one. Thaaaaaaaaaaanks
