Lenovo monitor won't work

I have a Lenovo model LI2223swA monitor, hooked up toy desktop. It won't come on when I move my mouse. If I turn it off and then back on again, it goes right to power saving mode, and then, just a black screen. Can you help me? I've checked the cords, and they are tight. I tried switching the cord to a different place on my computer, and still have the same issue.

its'not a toy desktop. My error. That should say "to my" desktop.

Was able to get it solved last night. Thank you
