No sound

Hello, Im Geri and got this problem that commenced a night ago. i get no sound from my Toshiba windows xp laptop. no sound from cds, from laptop, from the web. no sound at all. but i get a "BEEP" warning sound. an unusual beep sound. I'v tried using the installation cd as "back-up" but wasn't positive. tried to update, stil no help.
pls help me to rectify this problem.

try to download it or try to look in device manager maybe u have a problem there
