Hi,
I'm not sure, but I suggest that you check your keyboard. Perhaps a key is jammed (Fn, Alt, Ctrl...) and when you press the spacebar, it activate a keyboard shortcut that turn off your screen or switch to an external monitor, even if there isn't any.
