I am the user that posted the Question. I tried using the tips online like disabling the quite hours setting on the O/S but it did not help.
However, I solved it by deleting the two folders in the installation directory of whatsapp.
The folders names are:

C:\Users\"enter your Windows username here"\AppData\Local\WhatsApp\app-2.2236.10\resources\app.asar.unpacked\node_modules

One point I want to clarify is that. The folders will need to be deleted each time the Whatsapp is updated.
The 2nd point is that, the directory of the folder that contains the two folder will vary with different versions.
