New WA desktop app slow to show messages Solved/Closed

Hello,

ust forced to use the latest Windows desktop app when they turned off the previous version. I have immediately noticed that it is much slower at bringing in messages.

I have it open all the time, minimised to the taskbar and rely on the icon displaying when a new message has arrived. I have noticed that there seems to be no activity (the icon not showing any messages) so I maximise the app. Within a second or so it brings in messages that show received times of several minutes ago. The icon display does work, if I leave it long enough it will show that there is a message.

Keeping my phone next to the laptop I can see that the messages are being received by the phone as instantly as normal. They just don't show on the desktop version unless I maximise it (they will show eventually with it minimised).

Any ideas?

Hi,

Can you check if WhatsApp is allowed to run in the background?

Go to the Start menu > Settings;
	Select Privacy > Background apps​​​​​​​;
	Turn on WhatsApp in the list.

If the issue persists, check if a new version is available. Otherwise, try uninstalling and reinstalling WhatsApp.

Thanks but this was one issue too many with the latest version. I am now using Altus as it allows me to use an older, stable version of WA.
