Hello,

I am wondering how I can possibly find out if I'm permanently banned by Facebook and if so, whether there's anything I can do to appeal? (Details below)

I have had several accounts at the same time. I see now that is against the rules. I honestly never use social media and thought it was like having multiple email addresses. I thought you could create one for every use like a message board. I now understand that is not the case. I honestly created them to promote a startup I'm working on, but I never even got around to using them for that until a long time had passed. Then one day I logged into one try start setting it up and then the other one (thinking of them as email) it flagged me and deactivated the accounts.

I then thought, oh well, I'll just open another, like one opens a different email account. Blocked and flagged again! I suppose I violated the rules in multiple ways and have now read the rules. I've tried uploading my ID and that hasn't worked. I really am not a scammer, or spammer, or hacker, or whatever. More importantly I never actually did any activity online whatsoever so this banning seems a bit extreme after I uploaded my ID. My crime was having multiple accounts at once, but that was an mistake out of ignorance. Now I admit I probably really do look like a true scammer as I have exhausted all of my legitimate email addresses.

I'm at a loss. All I want is to close all previous accounts and just open one single true account.

QUESTION: Is there any human beings at FB I could contact to explain this to? I'm 100% sure my attempted or actual activity on the platform (of which there was none) never violated anything as I never even logged in after they were created.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi,

Opening multiple accounts is against Facebook's rules, indeed, and because of that, each attempt to open a new account results in it being blocked. You may have been flagged as a "spammer" due to the all attempts and accounts created.

I think the only way to open your own personal account now is to use another network connection - or try changing your IP address by restarting your router - and use a different device that you never used before. For the contact info, create a new email address to use it with Facebook. This way, Facebook shouldn't link it to your other accounts and disable it as soon as it is created.

Also, don't forget to provide your real information when creating your account. Use your real first and last name and date of birth. If you want, you can then set certain of your info private, in your privacy settings. To create a profile dedicated to your business, create a Facebook page.

For all of your other disabled accounts, you can't delete them yourself as they're inaccessible, but they should be deleted after a year. You can find more info on this page.

Good luck

Hello Helpios,

Thank you! I never considered that it was tracking me to my router IP address and machine information. Of course that all makes sense now on why I kept being instantly flagged. It’s not my name (alone) it is probably connection identifiers + name because that’s what a spammer would do.

To correct something I said earlier,I actually just uploaded my ID a few hours ago. Their website says that ID review will result in an email in about 5 days. So there’s a chance they unlock the account. Although at this point I have zero faith that they’ll decide to unlock that account given my pattern probably looks too shady.

After I receive this final rejection I will borrow another person’s machine, create a new email, and go to a different internet connection location. I’ll use my own real name and information and hopefully this time it’ll work. If it does get blocked again then I’ll upload a different form of ID and hopefully it’ll be treated as a fresh review. It’s worth a shot.

This is the danger of using too much AI with too little human oversight. There are sometime legit stupid people like me who become false positives and i really do need a human being to step in and straightened out the system for me.

Thank you so much for the helpful insight! We’ll see how this turns out.
