hi,
this is a driver issue.
go to device manager to check if you have the driver installed.
right-click on My computer and select manage, then click device manager.
if it is not installed, there will be a yellow question mark on audio controller.
if so is the case, post the make and model of the motherboard as well a the OS you are using.
