Hye,
Please make sure to plug in the pink or red jack to the mic input at the back of your CPU set,
then you should verify if the microphone is selected in the Volume control > Options > Properties > Select Recording > Tick the microphone you are using!
Then check on the software you are using to chat, in the sound settings, select your microphone there and do a sound test
