What to do cant get wireless connection

Hello,I have a inspiron 1545 I cant get it to pick up wireless connection says there maybe be a problem with net work or connection half the time says it cant find any network. are my setting wrong?. I am not sure I opened it straight out the box cant get internet kind of computer illiterate on this for some reason. It tries to search for wireless connection but cant get one thats strong enough it seems and not ever never connects when I do find one to connect too. What should I what steps.

hi,

if you are trying to connect to internet at home, make sure that you have an internet connection first.

then you will need a router to be able to connect wirelessly to internet.

contact your network provider.
