Hello Everyone,

I would like your help as when it comes to IT hardware, i'm a total pumpkin.

Background of Problem:
2 nights ago, I tried to open 2 external hard drives (my friend's and mine) at the same time. I clicked on a movie from his hard drive and my picture folder from my hard drive. After that, the computer hung, so I decided to force shut down and restart the computer again. When I restarted my computer, this message appeared:

"Checking file system on F:

may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
that you continue.

I did not think much about it (given that I dont know anything about hardware) and decided to watch my movie. So only today, when I wanted to upload some pictures did I find out that my picture folder is missing. My picture folder has many sub-folders inside. And I realised that the above mesage is in a Notepad doc. titled "bootex".

I do know for certain that I did not delete my folder.
Can anyone suggest how I can retrieve all my pictures?

The brand of my external hardrive is Prezmate.
Capacity: 149GB

Really appreciate your help.
Thank you in advance.
