Ipod suffle 2nd generation wont work!!!!

Hello, I have a ipod shuffle 2nd generations and a few months ago my light just turned red! and i have tried charging it but i wont light up or anything! it feels like my life is over i need my little ipod!!! what should i do im so upset how do i fix it??? email cooldestiny2000@yahoo.com or aim me at DeB2Klover if you can help me i be sooooooooooo happy

the red light indicates the hold button is on, it may have been activated accidentally.

there should be a slide switch to turn hold off again
