i got my laptop (compaq with windows vista) a few months ago and everything was working fine, and i recently plugged earphones into it and the sound worked through earphones, but after i unplugged them, the sound from my laptop speakers just stopped working all together. It now only works if earphones or seperate speakers are plugged in. There's nothing saying that the sound from my laptop shouldn't be working.
thanks

hi there,

Go to Control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Volume.

Check that Device Volume is at least halfway across the slider

and that Mute is unchecked. Go to Advanced and make sure that nothing is mute.

Go to Speaker Volume and set the sliders at least halfway across the slider.

Go to Advanced, and in Speakers setup choose Laptop Stereo Speakers

Go to Performance and choose Restore Defaults. Click Apply > OK.

Thanks
