ACER LAPTOP GREEN LINE

Hello,
i ALSO HAVE A BRNAD NEW ACER LAPTOP. AFTER INSTALLING I NEW PROGRAMME FROM DVD, A SOLID, VERTICAL GREEN LINE APPEARED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SCREEN. CHANGING RESOLUTION DOES NOT TAKE IT AWAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLZ?

thanks for responding so quickly.

I actually had played a normal DVD and then on the next start up I had the problem. On the next start up I also installed a programme called Dazzle, which allows me to copy from VHS tapes to DVD format.

My computer is an ACER Aspire 8730 2.1GHZ, 4GB DDR2, 500GB HDD
