Hello,

Just a quick query, I want to install a second hard drive on my computer and I want to make this my main drive. I already have Vista installed on another and I want to just use this as storage, without losing any of the files on it already. I just want to take Vista off it. Is there any way to do this and still have the new drive recognise it?

The reason I'm doing this is because the drive that's in there already is and IDE and my Burner is running off the same cable so sometimes they hang, I'm installing a SATA drive so I'm hoping this will solve it. I just want to take Vista off the IDE drive but keep the files.

Thanks in advance.

hi there,

plug the device in the pc

shift the jumper to slave or computer select(cs)

boot from your 1st disk

then open my computer move all your data to a folder

you can delete or format the drive and restore all your data to it

Thanks
