Transferring to new ipod

Hello,
I have bought a new second hand ipod touch. How do I transfer my itunes music on to it? I have had an ipod before. But when I plug my new ipod into my computer while itunes is running it will not transfer the music on to the new ipod. How do i get round this?

If it doesn't automatically transfer it, drag and drop.
