USB - EMERGENCY
Closed
Hello guys,
I can't use my USB 2.0 anymore. I don't know why, files in my USB are shown as "File" only in the description. Almost all files are 500KB and 2-3 files are 499KB. I can't move these files on my pc to see if they become usable. The only solution I know it's to format my USB stick. But.. What if I want to save my files in my USB?
I have projects in it.. Anyone knows a solution for this?
oh I forgot to say that all my files in my usb changed name to something !=% like this.
Please help me! :-/

Hi,
I guess that is a virus infection, why don't you try to run a scan in for your device using a good anti-virus software. I think it might help.
Enjoy your day.

Hopefully, once you've run the antivirus you'll be able to see and use your files again. Sometimes however, this isn't the case. Although the content of the files might still exist on the disk, the file index information may get screwed up etc. If so, then you can see if the files are recoverable using the free demo version of a commercial file recovery product that will scan the device for deleted files and show you exactly what can be recovered.
At least that will show you if you can recover the deleted files or if they've been well and truly corrupted.
You can find more useful information on recovering deleted files

Good luck
