Abt virus scanning

Hello,
i have downloaded avg anti virus protection.i want to know after finishing download whether virus scanning worked or not.

The only way to know if it works is to download a test virus from ICSA or some other trustworthy security authority and find out if AVG discovers the virus.

Did you go to the program and tell it to scan the computer? I use the free AVG 8.0 version and it works great. The IT department I am in purchased the same version since the free version is only for home or personal use not businesses. We have no problems with it.
