Hard disk not detected

Hello,
I have a laptop of compaq presario v 6000. yesterday when i was trying to start my lapy i got a message as follows "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer......." then i have tried to boot the xp cd then system responds as "hard disk not detcted".

Please help me......

hi there,

log to bios setting

and disable sata/native mode

save and exit

then reboot from xp cd
