EXTERNAL HARD DISK PROBLEM;PLEASE HELP

Hello,
i am using an external hard disk of a company named seagate.a virus went from my pc to the external hard disk.when i scanned my external hardisk , i deleted that virus using avast antivirus.
now when i opened my ex.hard disk again all my files r gone.when i scan again all those file r there but i cant see them.please please help me:)

recover them by using recovery tool
