Sound device not running

Hello,
My name is Denise,
I have windows vista home premuim on my pc at home, 2 days ago I lost all sound and my computer is slow to start in the lower task bar a x is over my sound icon and it says the audio service is not running when I go it to realtek it says my speakers are working and I rolled back and updated the driver twice and nothing is working, any advice.

hi there,

open run

press start+r

then type msconfig

on general Tab

select normal startup

apply and restart
